Residential Interior Repaint Strathmore-Syracuse NY

This past week I had the pleasure of continuing work on a 1920's colonial in Syracuse's Strathmore Neighborhood.  Prior to this repaint we have painted almost the entire inside of this customers home over the last few years.  This time around we painted a bedroom from an off white to a satin pewter with bright white molding.  In the pics below it is still drying.  The product we used here was Sherwin Williams Ovation.  This was a first time using this particular product and it performed great.  Ovation did not sag or drip like Behr. It covered well and after two coats the room was transformed from drab to fab.  Ovation is marketed as an HGTV product line and is available at Lowes or SW.  You'll find it is the most economical of Sherwin Williams interior product line.  So if you are leaning on buying Dutch Boy or a similar low grade product don't.  For the difference in cost you cannot beat it.  You will do your painter a great service buying a higher quality product from a reputable dealer who specializes in paint.  The results speak for themselves as you will see in the pictures below.  As usual we prepare the room or rooms we are working on by removing or centering furniture, taking down pictures/nails, spackling holes, caulking gaps, sanding areas to be painted, covering and protecting surfaces not being painted with plastic-tape- drop clothes.

Interior Painting Syracuse NY

Recently we repainted a kitchen, kitchen cabinets and dining room at a beautiful home in the country.  We were called in as a subcontractor on the job by a carpenter who we do business with regularly.  To start both rooms ceilings were painted twice with Sherwin Williams Eminence flat white ceiling paint.  Areas of the ceiling needed to be floated out with joint compound due to flaking texture.  We spot primed and rolled out a brand new coat of bright white.  The ceiling paint is flat in sheen to hide inconsistencies in this old farm house.  The walls where sanded with 180 grit paper to knock down the shine-irregularities- areas we floated with joint compound, vacuumed and then cleaned with a damp sponge.  Two coats of Sherwin Williams SuperPaint satin were applied.  The kitchen cabinets were taken apart removing hardware and doors completely, cleaned, sanded to remove sheen, 3 coats of acrylic-alkyd primer were applied followed by three coats of finish paint bright white satin enamel.  Before applying each coat the cabinets were thoroughly cleaned by vacuuming and wiping them down to remove dust from sanding in between coats.  Here are a bunch a pictures from this project with more to come once all the cabinets are reassembled.  New molding is being installed throughout and was painted off site with a sprayer with SW Pro-Classic to avoid brush marks.

Interior Repaint Camillus NY

Recently we repainted a customers kitchen, stair hallway and master bedroom in Camillus NY.  Originally the kitchen was a lime green, the hallway was a pine green with yellow molding-risers and the master bedroom was a dark brown.  In the kitchen they installed new wainscoting that was primed with Multi-Purpose Primer by Sherwin Williams twice and finished with two coats of Pro-Classic bright white semi-gloss enamel.  The  kitchen walls were painted with Sherwin Williams Emerald in a light gray satin finish twice.  The hallway walls were painted twice with SW SuperPaint in a tan satin.  The stairs were sanded and painted with Pro-Classic bright white enamel as well as the door molding and base molding twice.  The master bedroom was primed and two coated with the same tan as the hallway.  Before painting the floors, stairs and walls around the molding were taped off tightly with blue tape for perfectly straight lines as you will see in the pics provided.  Walls were sanded to remove imperfections and drips from previous painters.  The wainscoting in the kitchen was machine sanded to remove the rough finish with 80 grit sand paper between coats.  All gaps and openings were filled with SW 850 Caulk to provide seamless transitions from molding to walls.   Here is what a high quality paint job looks like when it is done.  The owners are very happy with the results and came as a referral from another satisfied customer who lives up the street.
